New Rules for Pensions
From 6 April 2006 (known as A-Day), the government brought in a set of new rules designed to simplify pensions and to encourage people to save more money into their pension schemes. This single set of pension rules was introduced following the Pensions and Finance Act 2004, and formed the most significant overhaul of the pension industry since the introduction of the old age pension.
